First Aid Animation

  1. Hi, I am Belén Ruiz and I a student from the first year of bachiller. When I was looking for a First Aid video, I watched this animation and I thought it was the best one to comment, because it talks about cases that can usually happen and explains them in a very easy way.
Now, I am going to describe the different injuries it illustrates and what to do if they occur unexpectedly:
    1. Head injury. You should administer some cold bags to reduce the swelling and the pain.
    2. Nose bleed. You should press the soft part of the nose (below the bony ridge). Confirm that the hurt person is breathing through the mouth.
    3. Heat stroke. You should provide the person with cold clothes or towels, and give him/her cold water slowly.
    4. Hypothermia. You should give the person a blanket and hot drinks.
    5. Choking. You should beat the person's back firmly, between the shoulder blades, five times.
    6. Allergies. You should give the person his/her medicines.
    7. Burns. You should place the burn under cold water for ten minutes. Then, cover the burn with a plastic wrap or a plastic bag to prevent infection.
    8. Bleeding. You should make sure of stopping the blood flow or to slow it down, making pressure on the wound.
    9. Unconscious. You should tilt the head backwards and listen to the breaths. If the person is breathing, move him/her on the side and tilt his/her head back. If the person is not breathing, start CPR steps.
You should call 112 in case of emergency.
I hope this to be useful for someone. Bye.

  3. Hi!! I´m Raquel. I decided to comment Belen´s video because it seems very interesting to me how to act in order to save someone's life or try to improve it.
We have also agreed on the content of the video since I have also made a similar one.
What I found most interesting was when he explained what to do when a person is unconscious. It seems very important to me since in the previous symptoms the life of the person is less dangerous and many people do not know how to react in this situation
    This is all. Bye Bye

  4. Hi there! I’m Javier Robles, student from the first year of Bachillerato. To be honest, I decided to discuss Belén’s post because, although it talks about the same subject as many of the other videos (which is first aid), it is quite different from the rest, actually. As far as I concerned, first aid is utterly useful when it comes to assist people who are suffering any sort of illness or injury. In addition, I truly believe this video shows several dangerous situations in a funny way and how to act in each one.
I’d like to take this chance to highlight some of the essential first aid steps we should follow when needed.
    - Head injury: Applying a cold compress will be fine in order to reduce pain.
    - Nose bleed: While breathing through the mouth, we may pinch the soft area of the nose.
    - Heat stroke: The best option to reduce body’s temperature might be using cool towels over the skin.
    - Hypothermia: Both warming ourselves with a blanket as well as taking hot drinks could be suitable ways for increasing our temperature.
    - Choking: In case of suffocation, we must hit the patient’s back for five times.
    - Allergies: We do need to bear in mind to give the patient her/his medicines.
    - Burns: First and foremost, we should put cold water on the wound. Afterwards we can cover up the injured area by means of a plastic wrap, for instance.
    - Bleedings: Since the aim is to stop the blood flow, making pressure will be enough helpful.
    - Unconsciousness: After tilting the head backwards and checking the patient’s breathing, we might either move her/him to the side (whether she/he breaths) or proceed with CPR (whether she/he doesn’t breaths).
This is basically all. I just want to conclude my comment by remarking how crucial may these steps be in case of injury. They could certainly mark the difference.
    See you the next time!
