Hi there! How is it going? I’m Javier Robles, from the first year of Bachillerato. For the last two months we’ve been working on first aid, hockey as well as frisbee in our Physical Education classes. Even though first aid is certainly useful when it comes to assist injured people, I eventually picked up frisbee in order to talk about it (because most of my mates have already discussed the first topic, basically). Now, I want to share with you guys my impressions of the video and take a look to the principle rules: - First and foremost, I have to say that ‘frisbee’ is not, in fact, the most accurate name when referring to this sport. Its actual name is “ultimate”. However, we can perfectly call it ‘ultimate frisbee’ or even ‘ultimate flying disc’. - Before starting playing ultimate, we must know that it is a two teams game with seven players each one. - It’s important to bear in mind that the disc should be always thrown by the players, who cannot run or either move after catching the frisbee (only one step is allowed, actually). In addition, participants have just ten seconds to pull the frisbee. - Ultimate frisbee’s main aim is to get the flying disc behind the goal line of the opposite team’s field. - In order to get a point, the player must keep at least one foot over the goal line. - The game always begins by pulling or throwing the disc towards the other team from goal line. - Blocking is not forbidden at all. The other team is able to knock the disc onto the ground. Moreover, they are supposed to drop or intercept the frisbee. - Whether the disc goes out of the playing area, opposites will gain its possession. - First halftime ends when one teams scores 9 goals. - Last but not least, the first team which scores 17 goals wins the match. They are some of the most basic rules for ultimate. Finally I’d like to take this chance to remind you all that sports (no matter if it is ultimate frisbee or whatever) should be always played with respect and kindness towards the other people. This is all, see you the next time!
In this assessment we did two types of activities. One type was first aid making some practices and also we learned the theory. Other type of activity was different sports.
I am making a coment of this entry because he talks about one of my favourites sports that we have practised during this term, frisbee.
This sport I think it is very funny and also you can improve your physical fitness because it consist of running around the court and try to pass it and put the frisbee outside the line and get a point.
Also to play well, we need some technique to pass the frisbee correctly because if you didn´t and the frisbee touchs the floor, goes to the other team.
And also is good to make fellowship because you learn to agree with your partners.
