FIRST AID TRAINING: HYPERVENTILATION

  1. For the post of this first assessment, I have chosen a video about first aid, because in my opinion, we have treated this topic more in depth than the one about games and sports.
Specifically, I decided to choose a video that explains how to act in the event that a person starts hyperventilating.
This is a video I had seen a few weeks ago because the work that my group presented in class was related to this.
I think it is a very interesting video that sums up very well all about how to act in such a situation.
Personally, I found it more attractive, because a year ago I suffered some episodes of hyperventilation.
All the things explained in the video can be summed up in three brief ideas:
If someone is suffering this: Take them somewhere quiet, ask the people around to leave the place and finally encourage the person to visit the doctor.

  2. Hello Carmen! I personally like your video because it talks about an emergency that is not always treat as “emergency case”, but anyway, it’s important to know how to act in those kinds of situations. It is an emergency that can occur when least expected.
I think that the video explains in a schematic and brief way the steps to follow to control the hyperventilation. I think that the most important tip is to take the person to a place apart to make sure that he gets calmed. In a lot of this situations what people uses to do is to make a circle around the person affected, and that stresses even more the person.
I think that it’s also very important to act calmly, thinking all the steps that you must follow to ensure that you’re doing well. Doing any step in a wrong way could carry worse problems.

  3. Hi Carmen, I enjoy so much your video because I think it´s a good way to understand the hiperventilation. In that video explains some ways to follow to control that.
In this occasion, i think that the best thing that we do it´s to call emergency 112 and take the person who suffer that illness or injury to other place where is more safe that the one that they are.
The best thing is to get safety, if you alterate, the things it get bad, so you have to maintain the calm.
I really enjoy that video Carmen, thank you!
