First Aid in beaches and pools

First Aid is the help given to a sick or injured person until full medical treatment is available

These are the main dangers that can occur on the beach or in swimming pools:
  • If you recieve a stung of a jellyfish, you should soak the affected region with vinegar or hot water.
  • If you cut your skin with a shell, you should clean the cut with fresh soapy water and cover it with a bandage.
  • If you get sand or sun lotion into your eyes, you should continuously flush eyes with cool water until irritating agent is relieved or disappears.
  • If you cool down by swimming in cold water, you should warm up with beach towels and several layers of clothing, including a hat, and drink water.

  1. I have chosen to do the first aid work on the beaches and in the swimming pools because it seems very important to me. Imagine being at the beach or in the pool with your friends in the summer and something happens to someone that can kill them. Knowing what to do and how to do it is very efficient because you can save someone's life. With this work I have learned about the main dangers that you can face and how to solve them, even some that I thought could not happen like you stay cold from swimming in cold water. I didn't think that was a serious danger.
